World Book Day Event 6th March 2014

In spite of the usual panic about which character to be and how on earth to make that costume, the costume parade on Thursday morning was very successful and most enjoyable. I think that this year the costumes were more exciting and original than ever before with plenty of very well designed and created home-made ones. There were many gasps of amazement as the children paraded up to the front of the hall.

I’d like to thank all the parents for their significant contribution to making this event such a success.

I would also like to thank Halle W,  Anya PC and Lucy B for learning their verses so well and being brave enough to recite them in front of such a big audience.

My thanks must also go to Mrs Heathfield and Miss Broomfield who had the unenviable task of selecting our winners:   Year 6 – Summer P as the Roly Poly Bird, Year 5 – Abbie M as the Gruffalo , Year 4 Joseph D as Peter Pan’s Shadow, Year 3 Amali C as the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe, Year 2 Erin O’C as Nanny McPhee, Year 1 Lea G as the Rainbow Fish, KG Paul G as Gingerbread Man, LKG Isaac D as the Hungry Caterpillar.

Well done, everyone.  Please see the parent gallery for more photos of the morning.
