Bishop’s Run Worth School Cross Country

On Tuesday 11th March the OGS cross country team went to Worth School for their inaugural “Bishop’s Run” cross country event. The course was about 2 ½ km long, so much longer than our course at Oakhyrst. It was also very hilly and rather muddy. There was some concern that “they are all bigger than us” as the opposition were mainly year 7 children, but OGS were not to be put off and duly performed admirably. Hannah added to the challenge by running most of the course in just one shoe. An exciting race with a challenging downhill finish saw Harley finish first, Thomas 4th, Conrad 5th and Jed 6th for the boys which meant they won the boys’ year 7 event. In the girls race, Niamh was 8th, Aimee 9th, Hannah 14th and Rebecca 15th, Guildford High School won the girls’ event with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. A great race at a fantastic location, well done to all the competitors!
