ISA London South U11 Football Champions

Many congratulations to our 5-a-side U11 Football Team who won the London South ISA Regional event at Crystal Palace on Friday 27th November.   This will be the third consecutive year that our U11 Team will attend the ISA Nationals.  Below is a report by Thomas By, who went along as supporter and Team Correspondent.

We played 7 games in the Group stage and our results were as follows:

1-0 against Heath House, 1-0 against Virgo Fidelis, 1-0 against Sacred Heart, 2-0 against West Lodge, 3-0 against Pointers, 0-0 against Lingfield Notre Dame, 2-0 against Weston Green.

This meant we didn’t let a goal in during the whole group stage.  Because of our good results we topped our Group going into the semis.  In the semis we met St David’s the current champions.  It was a challenging match but in the end we came out on top with the final score 3-0.

Then in the final we played Weston Green again.  Beating them in the group stage 2-0 gave us confidence but they came back at us harder this time.  It was a tough match and down the dying seconds it was still 0-0.  Then we broke and got the goal which led us to winning the match 1-0.  We were the champions!

During the tournament, our top goal scorer was Conrad with 5 goals, but the Man of the Tournament, unanimously agreed by the team, was Alex who didn’t let a single goal in all day.

I would like to thank Miss Dance for coaching us, Mr Vincent for his support and all the parents who came along to cheer us on.
