Netball Match – Wednesday 9th November

We played our first ever match against Old Palace on Wednesday 9th November on our New Multi Games Area.  Luckily the weather had stopped raining so we were good to go.

The first quarter was a very intense affair with lots of interception and end to end play.  We sadly went down 2-0 before the break. In the second quarter, we picked our game right up and Amali C scored a great goal after some lovely play from the rest of the team. We started the third quarter 2-1 down but scored two goals in quick succession to their one goal and we ended the quarter all square at 3-3.

We all wanted to try and beat them as Mrs Pumphrey had promised us 5 house points and a chocolate bar if we did. After some competitive play it was still 3-3 with only a few minutes to go. It was our centre from Sophie H, and with some great passing we got it in the D but an interception from Old Palace meant that they got the ball, went up the other end, and successfully scored. Final score was 4-3. We were a bit disappointed but we had all brought our ‘A’ game and put in a good effort. But we are sure to beat them next time.

I would like to thank Sophie H, Freya H, Jessica H, Erin L, Amali C, Sinead T and Kate K for playing their best. I would also like to thank the umpires Mrs Pumphrey and Mrs Sanchez for organising the match. Not forgetting, Old Palace, because without them we wouldn’t have had such a good match.
