Inter-school Cross Country – Monday 5th December

Monday 5th December was our annual Inter School Cross Country event; the event was well attended by Caterham, Old Palace, Essendene, Warlingham Park and Royal Russell. The weather was very kind and after a frosty start in the morning the sun came out and it was actually quite warm. The race started with the Year 6 boys and Conrad N stormed to victory with Jake O’S achieving 3rd. I was very proud of Jack B, he was starting his 3rd lap as people were finishing but wanted to finish and even though he knew he would be last he went on to complete to a round of applause. The year 6 girls followed and Sophie P came in second after overcoming a leg injury. The year 5 boys were next and Sam achieved a magnificent second, whilst Ethan F just missed out on a medal.

The year 5 girls all ran brilliantly but were unable to achieve a medal in a very tough race.

The year 4 girls achieved a first, Estée N and a second Aspen P, whilst Lea just missed out on a medal. The 4 boys were missing Declan B and just missed out on any medals. Well done to all of the children who ran. Even if you did not win a medal; you are all winners; everyone ran their best and your behaviour was exemplary. A special thank you to the marshalls because without you the race could not happen.
