ISA LS Netball Tournament – Friday 24th February

On Friday 24th February Mrs Pumphrey and Mrs Sanchez took the Year 6 girls to Lingfield Notre Dame for the ISA London South Netball Tournament.

The first match began with a hard start for OGS.  The girls were in good spirits and worked hard to defend against their competitors from Lingfield.  Unfortunately for our team, however, Lingfield dominated the match winning 8-0.

Our next match was against St Andrews. The girls rallied their spirits and played well with two near misses from Megan and Amali.  St Andrews were slightly more successful winning 2-0.

The third match was against Westwood. OGS had a terrific start scoring 2 goals in the first half of the game. OGS continued to dominate the second half with some good interception from Megan.  By the end of the second half the girls successfully won 4-0.

Game 4 saw OGS play against West Lodge. Oakhyrst took the centre pass straight away but were quickly intercepted by a strong West Lodge defence who went on to score their first net. The game was fast paced and there was some good passing of the ball down the court both teams. By the whistle West Lodge took the match.

Our final match was against Henrietta and the girls worked hard to intercept the ball from a very strong team. Our marking of the opposition let us down overall and Henrietta went to on to win.

Despite a hard tournament against a number of stronger teams, the girls worked well as a team throughout the tournament achieving 5th position. Thank you to Mrs Pumphrey and Mrs Sanchez for your coaching and support and to all the parents cheering on the sidelines keeping our spirits high.
