On Friday 22nd September, 8 boys and 8 girls went to Lingfield College to take part in a cross country event. It was a sweltering day and maybe a bit too hot for cross country. The course was the equivalent of 6 laps of our course with the U9 a bit less, but still a long way, but we got on with it and the first race was the U9 girls. They set off really well and Gracie got an exceptional lead. I thought she was going to tire, but she had great stamina and won it. Seanna and Lea were in next with Charlotte following in. Next was the U9 boys they all ran an exceptional race but they were against great competition. Samuel came 4th with Isaac, Charlie and Adam coming in strongly after.
Directly after, the U11 girls set off powerfully with Aspen taking the lead and not losing it to the end. All the girls in that race ran so well that they were completely out of breath at the end. Finally the U11 boys set off at a steady pace with Declan taking the lead and me third. A Reigate St Mary’s boy took the lead and took me and a few others around at a very high speed. At the end it was me and the St Mary’s boy and I made a quick sprint but he had more energy than me and beat me by two seconds. Declan was in next with Ethan, Harry, and Seb following.
Everyone ran very well and I would like to thank Mrs Pumphrey for taking us there and organising for us to compete. Lastly I would like to thank the mums and dads for coming and supporting us.
