ISA U11 London South 6-a-side Hockey Tournament – 2.2.18

A group of Year 5 and Year 6 students went to Crystal Palace on Friday, 2 February to take part in the ISA London South Hockey Tournament. It was an exceptionally cold day but fortunately stayed dry and the sun was shining. Oakhyst Grange took two teams who played in a number of games. For the A-team our first game was against St Faith’s. We had a terrific start winning the game comfortably with a final score of 1-0. Our second match was against Elmhurst and once again we demonstrated some good defence by Matt and Tom in goal winning 1-0. Match three we played against Rosemead – a much tougher game but we managed to avoid any goals against us and drew 0-0. Our fourth match with less successful against Westward which we lost. Game five vs Weston Green demonstrated once again some great defending by our defence and mid-field team but we were unable to get any goals: final score 0-0.

Our final position meant that we just missed medal positions. Unfortunately for the B-team they were not quite as successful but the effort and Hockey played was amazing. We left Crystal Palace in high spirits and ready to face our next ISA challenge at Lea Valley. I would like to thank Miss Dance and Mr Burke for their coaching and for letting us compete. I would also like to thank all the parents who came to support us on the chilly side lines and for cheering us on throughout.
