A number of children in Year 5 took part in a Creative Writing competition last term run by a student at Reigate Grammar School, Finty Hunter. The theme was: “If you could have a super power what would it be? What would you do with it? And why?”
This is the email I received this week regarding Jessica Hennesey’s entry.
“It was a pleasure to read all of the creative, exciting and brilliantly written stories from the pupils at your school. I found it very difficult to choose from the wide range of different pieces, describing a huge variety of superpowers which the children had clearly thought long and hard about! Thank you so much for entering, I hope the children enjoyed writing the stories as much as I enjoyed reading them.
I am pleased to announce that Jessica Hennessey’s was given a Highly Commended Award. I am in the process of putting the winning and highly commended entries into an anthology which I will send to your school shortly before half term with a certificate for Jessica and a copy of the anthology.
Thank you very much, Finty Hunter”
