On Tuesday 27th September Miss Dance took 8 U9 boys to a football tournament at Priory Prep School.
We played 3 games in the group stage, our first was against Parkside – we won this 2-1 and Declan and Jacob scored our goals. Unfortunately we lost our next game against Willington 2-0 although we had a few great shots on goal but didn’t manage to score. Our third and final game of our group was against Belmont, we needed to win this game to have a chance of going through to the semi-final of the cup. We all passed the ball around well and the only goal of the match came when Jacob crossed a great ball into the box, Edward had a shot which hit the post, and Declan scored from the rebound. 1-0!!!. Mack, Joseph, Ethan and George did really well defending the goal and Daniel made some great saves to keep a clean sheet.
We went into the semi-final of the cup and played against Twickenham Prep School. They were the winners of the other group and were a really good team. Twickenham Prep started the game very quickly and scored 2 early goals, which we couldn’t come back from. We managed to hold on and not let any more goals in so the game finished 2-0.
On behalf of the Year 4 boys I would like to thank Mr Marek and Miss Dance for taking us and thank you to all the parents for coming along and supporting us.
