On Wednesday 11th October, Oakhyrst Grange School played a new school called Banstead Prep. The A Team was made up of Ethan K, Matthew C, Ollie D, Harry P, Tom P, Sam G and myself. We kicked off with everyone ready to win. I personally thought we were going to go 1-0 down any time soon but with Ethan’s amazing acrobatics we were still in it and hopefully going to score any time soon.
Ollie cleared the ball from a corner and I managed to chip the ball over their defence to Sam up front and he ran onto the ball and had an amazing half volley and the ball zoomed into the back of the net. Once we scored we lost our concentration and Ethan made an amazing effort to try to save the ball from going into the net but credit to the boy who scored the goal because it was a very good shot powered into the back of the net, Ethan even got a hand to the ball but was unlucky to keep it out.
It was suddenly half time and we were very tired, we were off again and trying to get a goal but suddenly a Banstead boy ran through and scored making it 1-2. We were all tired but we kept on going but they broke through once again and scored, making it 1-3 to them.
The B Team was made from Mack R, Luke S, Joseph F, Declan B, Ethan H, Daniel C and James T. They all played outstanding scoring once but couldn’t hold on for long enough. Mack played very well in goal making lots of dives. After they had their half time talk everyone was up for another thrilling half to come. The boys scored once again making the score line change again. But they kept on going for a third and finally scored with Declan taking that one. I was impressed with their fitness as they kept on testing the goal keeper and running up constantly. The game ended as a huge 2-1 win for them. A massive well done to all of the boys.
The C Team had a team of Edward B, Lucas P, Joshua G, George S, George Kav, George Kan and Christopher S. The Banstead boys had brought a C Team and a D Team so for the first half they had the C Team playing and D Team for the second half. The Banstead boys scored a few goals but the Oakhyrst team kept on going. Edward B came out of goal for the second half and scored two very good goals. The end score was 5-2 to the Banstead team but well done to everyone.
I would like to thank Miss Dance and Mr Agathocli for refereeing and organising this fixture for us and thanks to the parents who came to watch.
