ISA National Hockey Finals at Olympic Park 8th February 2018

It was a really early start, we left OGS at 7am. When we arrived we were all very excited, we trained on the pitch in preparation for our first match, which was against Cundall Manor School. They were a very good side and sadly we lost 3:0.

After the match we were very disappointed, but it made us more determined to win our qualifying match, which we needed to do to progress in the tournament. As a result of great team performances we won our remaining matches 2:0 and 3:0, so we qualified for the main cup.

After lunch we had three more cup games which would decide who would go into 3rd and 4th play off and 1st and 2nd play off.

Once all our games were over we then had penalty shuffles against Langley School, because we drew with them on points. Sadly, we just missed out on qualification for the main final and went into the 3rd and 4th play off against Cundall Manor School.

It was a very tight match and both teams played very well it ended up 2:2 and then we went down to a coin toss to decide if we were to share 3rd place or penalty shuffles….. It was decided on penalty shuffles and thankfully we won the penalty shuffles 2:1 and we qualified for 3rd place and we were each awarded a National Junior Hockey ISA Sport medal.
