ISA Netball Tournament – Friday 23rd February 2018

On Friday 23 February 2018 Oakhyrst’s Year 5 and 6 girls took part in the ISA Netball tournament.  It was held at Lingfield College.

As it may be our last time playing as a team, we wanted to do really well and enjoy the Tournament.

I would like to thank Miss Dance for taking us and also Mrs Pumphrey and Mrs Sanchez for all their help during the season.

We did really well and played six matches – getting all the way to the quarter finals.

The first match was very close and we drew 2-2 with Oakfield Prep.  We lost the second match 3-1 to Shoreham College but we bounced back to beat Weston Green 2-0.

Lingfield, who had home advantage, then won the fourth match 5-1.  However, we recovered to beat The Mead 2-0. Our total score of 15 points – you get 5 for a win, three for a draw, 1 for a loss – was enough to take us into the quarter final.

Unfortunately, we came up against West Lodge, who were very strong and won 8-2.  The Tournament was a great experience and all of the girls played really well.

I have really enjoyed my time as Captain of the team.
