Cross Country Relays away at Hazelwood School – Monday 24th September

On Monday 24th September I took 4 teams, an U9 girls, U9 boys, U11 girls and U11 boys to Hazelwood for the relay race. Each race consisted of 4 runners and they must pass the baton to each team member. The course is short but extremely tough; with the start running up a very steep hill. The event was well attended by nearly 20 schools.

The U9 girls were the first to start, Chloe B, Sophie D, Leah K & Claudia L they did amazingly well and finished 8th. The U9 boys followed next with Isaac D, Samuel M, Henry P & Charlie S, they wanted to try and do better than the girls but just missed one place and came 9th; which is a brilliant result.

The U11 girls were up next, they won the event 2 years ago and they were hoping to repeat their success. The team was Gracie B, Lea G, Estee N & Aspen P, they raced really well and came 2nd, a fantastic result. The U11 boys were the last race and Declan B, Joseph F, Lucas P & Tomas S all ran their absolute best and came a very good 8th.

All of our runners should feel very proud of their achievements; we are a very small school and lots of schools were entering A & B teams. All of our children gave their best and did our small school very proud.
