On Tuesday 6th November I took on an apprentice for the day, her name is Daisy O and she is in our Year 3 class. Her first major duty of the day was to telephone Mrs Julie Robinson, General Secretary of the Independent Schools Council. Daisy invited Julie to come and be our Guest Speaker at Prizegiving on Saturday 29th June. I am pleased to report that the phone call was successful.
Daisy and I then went to Woldingham School where we met the Head Teacher, Mrs Alex Hutchinson and Mrs Brown, Deputy Head Teacher along with other members of the Senior Management Team. In a very relaxed and informal coffee morning session, Daisy interviewed Mrs Hutchinson and was in turn interviewed by our host. This was a very successful meeting. Daisy charmed everyone. We were then given a tour by former pupil Clementine who was keen to show us the theatre and the art department.
On returning to school Daisy took a major part in awarding Mrs Debby Staples our Chef with the Soil Association Bronze Food for Life Award. As an apprentice Daisy fulfilled her duties professionally, charmingly and very successfully. My thanks to Daisy for making it a very special day.
