Seven Oakhyrst pupils go through to the ISA National Swimming Championships

A team of 20 children took part in the ISA Regional Swimming gala at Beckenham Spa on Sunday 11th November 2018. With new schools joining the ISA each year the competition and standard goes up. Well done to all of the Oakhyrst Grange children who swam impressively. Many of the children came first or second in their heats and several children narrowly missed out on the gold medal position.

Aspen P and Joseph F have made it a hat-rick, three years in a row going through to the Nationals. Aspen won her individual Backstroke and Freestyle races and Joseph the  Breaststroke for year 6. Samuel M won the year 4 Boys Breaststroke and the year 4 girls won their Freestyle Relay (Leah K, Amberley S, Olivia S, Jasmine Parr). Leah narrowly  missed out on another medal in her individual Freestyle race with a difference of 0.15 of a second between first and second place.

As medals were only awarded to first place swimmers, I will need to wait for the timed heat results to confirm placing for our other swimmers.

Thank you to all our OGS supporters and help on the poolside, it was much appreciated. Very well done to all.
