On Thursday 14th March our Year 2 class performed in a large concert at St Martin’s Church in Epsom. There were five other independent school Year 2 classes along with ensemble groups from the City of London Freeman School and Caterham School. Our children performed ‘Who put the Colours in the Rainbow’ (Paul Booth) and ‘Tue Tue’ (traditional African Song). The event was organised by Mrs Annie Thackray, Headmistress St Christopher’s School, Epsom and conducted by Mr Adam Assen, Director of Music, Caterham School. Mr Assen was the musical director for the event and he conducted the mass choir of all the children singing ‘A Million Dreams’ (Greatest Showman) and ‘Can you Hear Me’ (Bob Chilcott). My sincere thanks to Mrs Stevens for rehearsing the children with Mr Assen and to Mr McInnerney for accompanying the trip. The Lord Mayor of Epsom was the Guest of Honour and the church was filled to capacity. This was a wonderful opportunity for our Year 2 children to perform on a large stage. They did magnificently.
