Our Mission Statement

To inspire a lifelong love of learning through academic excellence, intellectual curiosity and exceptional opportunities that challenge, enrich and empower every child. Rooted in kindness and guided by strong values, we nurture confident, compassionate and resilient young people within our warm, family-orientated community, preparing them to flourish with purpose and integrity in an ever-changing world.

Ethos: Oakhyrst Grange is committed to providing a supportive, enjoyable and family-orientated environment in which every child is nurtured and encouraged to achieve their full academic and personal potential. The school seeks to provide a broad and balanced education, enriched by opportunities in sport, drama, art and music, enabling pupils to discover and develop their individual strengths and interests.

Central to the ethos of the school is the belief that each child should be encouraged to develop personal initiative, confidence and independence, alongside a resilience that enables them to approach challenges positively. Teaching and learning are designed to meet the needs of every pupil so that each child is supported in fulfilling their potential.

The school promotes the development of Christian values while fostering respect for and understanding of other faiths and beliefs. Pupils are encouraged to develop a clear understanding of right and wrong, recognising the importance of balancing rights with responsibilities.

Aims:

  • To enable each child to fulfil their own academic and personal potential.
  • To instil in every child the importance of developing personal initiative and to foster in them a belief that they can fulfil their potential in any area of school life.
  • To provide a broad based academic and extra-curricular education that is delivered in such a way as to satisfy the learning needs of each and every pupil.
  • To help each pupil to develop both a set of Christian values and an understanding and appreciation of other religious beliefs.
  • To learn the difference between right and wrong and to appreciate that rights and responsibilities are equally balanced.
  • To develop and promote a sense of caring and community between the pupils within the school and the wider community as a whole.
  • To instil in each pupil a high degree of self-respect and respect for their fellow pupils, teachers and other adults.
  • To prepare each child for the transition to the next stage of their education and to be able to take advantage of any opportunities as they present themselves.

Values:
At Oakhyrst Grange, we are committed to nurturing a strong sense of belonging within a caring and inclusive community, where every child is encouraged to demonstrate kindness, respect and consideration for others, both within school and beyond. Guided by our core values of Kindness, Independence, Resilience, Curiosity, Respect, Responsibility and Aspiration, we inspire pupils to develop confidence, integrity and compassion. These values underpin every aspect of school life, fostering self-belief, respect for others and a genuine love of learning, while preparing pupils to embrace the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities of the next stage of their education and beyond.
