Shona Aitken holds a BA in Business & Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. She brings over two decades of experience in philanthropy within the higher education sector, having held senior leadership roles at several of the UK’s leading universities, including Imperial College London and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She has particular expertise in international philanthropy, with a focus on Asia and North America.
Shona currently serves as Director of Advancement & Chief of Staff to the Vice‑Chancellor at SOAS University of London, where she leads the university’s philanthropic strategy, oversees alumni and supporter engagement, and drives institution‑wide strategic initiatives.
She is Chair of the Development Committee and is a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee and the Investments Committee.
