On Monday 9th June, 10 of our Year 5 & 6 girls had a fantastic opportunity of attending a Tag Rugby competition hosted by Harlequins. The minibus journey was in full flow with lots of excitement, and this was further enhanced by arrival at ‘The Stoop’, the home of Harlequins Rugby Club.
Before play started, the girls got the opportunity to take lots of photos in the stadium, on the pitch, with the mascot, as well as walk out of the tunnel to their chosen song ‘Free from Desire’ as they were paraded with flags and cheers. A lovely moment for all the girls.
As the competition started, the team were scheduled to play 6 tag rugby matches. Each match they improved, worked as a team and got tactically better. Amazingly, the team won all 6 of their matches, making them overall winners of the competition. A truly brilliant effort and one which they should all be really proud of. Special mention to Vivienne who was voted as Player of the Day by Harlequins staff, after scoring numerous tries throughout the day.
The girls were really buzzing after the event, and they are looking forward to taking part in more Tag Rugby lessons & competitions moving forward.
Well done girls!
