A team of 5 took part in the Surrey Schools’ Swimming Association, Primary Schools Relay Gala at Guildford Spectrum on Saturday 12th March 2022. This year’s competition was smaller than usual, but this did not affect the atmosphere. All of the events were timed heats, so no finals were swum. Our first race was Event 1 the Small Schools Medley Relay, second heat – Daisy started the relay with backstroke, Amala took over with breaststroke and the last 2 frontcrawl legs were swum by Joseph and Emily. The team swam really well and came in 3rd place overall.
We waited until Event 5 for our next relay, the Small Schools Freestyle Relay. Again, we were in the second heat. Joseph had a good start, Emily took over swimming well, next to swim was Max who conquered his nerves and swum superbly, Daisy stormed home in a very close race. Again, another brilliant swim by the whole team and they also came 3rd overall.
3rd place in both events means that we will not be going through to future rounds of this competition this year.
Well done to both teams and thank for the parents for supporting.
