How exciting to be back competing against Caterham Prep School after a long break due to COVID. 36 children from years 3, 4, 5 & 6 took part in the gala on Tuesday 14th March 2023 and for some it was their first experience of an away swimming gala.
The gala started with the individual races, backstroke, breaststroke, frontcrawl, and butterfly, there were some tight finishes and excellent swims from all the children. Next, all the children swam in medley and freestyle relays, girls, and boys from each year group swimming against each other.
The scores were announced. OGS scored 229 and Caterham won with a score of 295.
Very well done to the whole swimming team and thank you to the parents who helped with the transportation to the gala and the large number of parents cheering. Lastly a massive thank you to Mrs Cox for helping me on poolside.
