
On Wednesday 29th January 2025, our U10 & U11 hockey teams put in a fantastic effort in their respective matches against Chinthurst School, displaying great teamwork, skill, and resilience throughout. With a mix of wins and losses, all teams showed significant improvement and determination.
Year 5 matches at Tadworth Leisure Centre – 3 x mixed teams
Yellow team – Laurence, Bonnie, Charlie, Anna, Rahnal & Leela.
The team had an outstanding performance in both of their matches, dominating he play with sharp passing and strong attacking movements. Their 10-3 victory showcased their ability to create goal-scoring opportunities and finish with confidence. In the second match, they maintained their momentum with a soli 4-1 win. A great team display!
Pink team – Alec, Hetty, Jaimin, Sofia, George & Robyn.
The pink team faced a tough challenge in their first match, struggling against a well-organised Chinthurst side. Despite their 5-0 loss, they showed great resilience and came back stronger in their second game. With improved communication and sharper finishing, they turned things around with an impressive 5-1 victory, proving their ability to learn and adapt.
Red team – Caiden, Sienna, Alex, Eliza, Max & Violet.
The red team put in a solid performance in their one-off match, securing a 4-2 victory. Their strong defensive work and quick counterattacks led by Caiden & Sienna, helped them control the game, while their finishing in front of goal made the difference. It was a well-balanced match with both teams showing great fight.
Year 5 POTM’s – Laurence E & Bonnie B
Year 6 matches at Oakhyrst Grange School – 3 x mixed teams
Divided into 2 groups of 3 teams, 6 hockey teams from OGS & Chinthurst competed in a mini round robin competition.
Red team – Jude, Ayush, Ania, Ilana, Amaaya & Sofia.
The red team played in two matches and they were both incredibly close matches, losing both by the same 4-3 score line. Despite the defeats, they showed great determination, battling hard to create scoring opportunities. The team can take great pride in their performance and the progress they showed throughout.
Blue team – Daniel, Ethan, Ellie, Jessica & Trinity.
In their first game, they faced a well-organised Chinthurst side and, despite a strong effort, fell to a 4-1 loss. Their next game saw them win an exciting 4-3 match against their arch rivals’ team red! They displayed excellent teamwork and attacking movements throughout the afternoon.
Green team – Milan, Heath, Vivienne, Isla & Kate.
The green team had a fantasic set of matches, securing two win, 3-1 & 3-2 respectively. They were able to control possession and take their scoring opportunities well. They showed a determined defensive effort to keep their opponents and hang on to victory late on!
Year 6 POTM’s – Daniel H & Jessica H
All teams showed great improvement, with strong defensive work, better positioning, and sharper passing on display. Well done to everyone for their effort and sportsmanship.
