On Tuesday 4th February we took six of our string players to the Epsom College String Day. One hundred pupils from various Prep schools participated in learning music from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Pirates of the Carribean’. Mr Wickham (Assistant Director of Music) led with tremendous energy and enthusiasm giving the children an experience to be remembered.
Lunch was served in the dining hall followed by doughnuts with chocolate in the middle. These were, of course, very well received!
The children rehearsed all day interspersed with breaks and an inspirational concert from a few of Epsom’s scholars. Amaaya, Ania, Ayush, Heath from Year 6, Eliza from Year 5 and Violet from Year 4 performed brilliantly throughout the day and it was a pleasure to see them participate confidently and enjoy playing their instruments in the String orchestra.
