Oakhyrst Grange School Joins the Award-Winning Caterham Family of Schools
Thriving and much-loved Surrey preparatory school, Oakhyrst Grange School, has announced that it will be joining the multi award-winning Caterham Family of Schools, marking an exciting new chapter in the school’s 75-year history.
Set within five and a half acres of beautiful Surrey Hills lawns and woodland, Oakhyrst Grange School is renowned for its nurturing ethos, strong academic foundations and exceptional pastoral care. Combining traditional values with innovative learning opportunities, the school provides an inspiring environment where children are encouraged to grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and achieve their full potential.
The partnership brings together two schools that have enjoyed a close relationship for decades and share a commitment to educational excellence, pupil wellbeing and innovation. Oakhyrst Grange is proud of its exceptional facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool, sports hall, Multi-Use Games Area and dedicated Forest School provision, all of which support a broad and ambitious curriculum. The school was also recently recognised nationally with a Pearson National Teaching Award Bronze Award for Early Years Team of the Year, celebrating the outstanding quality of its Early Years provision.

U10 Cricket Competitions – 11th June and 20th June 2025
Year 5 have been very busy lately with their cricket, having competed in 2 fixtures over the last week. Below is a quick summary of each fixtures.
Essendene Lodge – 11th June
All of the Year 5 children participated in some friendly matches against our local friends, Essendene Lodge School. Being split into two teams, each team got to compete against our opponents in a 10-over match. For a lot of our children, this was their first experience of a cricket fixture, but they soon picked up the format and adapted brilliantly. All the teams batted brilliantly, hitting plenty of 4s and 6s along the way. There was some excellent bowling being shown and most impressively some outstanding fielding. Essendene Lodge were narrow victors in both matches, however everyone came away smiling from having given it their best shot. Well done everyone!

Caterham competition – 20th June
6 boys from across Year 3 – 5 attended a competition run by Caterham School. It was a glorious day for cricket, with our team playing in three, five over-a-side, matches. We were up against Caterham School, Rokeby School and New Beacon School. All the teams we played were very experienced and had some very high level players on show. The format tested the teams tactical decisions and we were involved in some great games, batting really well throughout.

Although results didn’t go the teams way, all of the boys put in lots of effort and never gave up. They all got the opportunity to bat, bowl and field, showing some excellent individual performances along the way. Well done boys!
