On Wednesday 12th October, I became Mr Gear’s Apprentice for the day. I was nervous beforehand, but it was lots of fun. I started my day as the Headmaster’s Apprentice at Assembly where I had to sit in one of the teachers’ chairs. I gave out awards in assembly and presented the trophy to Chamber Choir, who had won the Woldingham Choir Festival the day before.
Later that morning, I spoke with Julie Robinson, Chief Executive of the Independent Schools Council, on the phone. She is a very important lady, who you might even get to see on the news. Julie talked to me about my day and what I enjoy doing in and out of school.
I then went on a visit to Caterham School. I met the headmaster; Mr Jones and ate a piece of delicious cake in his office. I had a tour of the school which included visiting the Art Room, Design & Technology Room and the Music Department.
I returned to school to attend my lessons. At lunchtime, I had to say Grace and dismiss all the tables.
At the end of the school day, I said goodbye and thankyou to Mr Gear and Mrs Agathocli, for a very enjoyable day, as the Headmaster’s Apprentice.
