This week and next the children, from LKG to Year 6 will all be taking part in the London marathon’s mini marathon.
The aim of the event is to get as many children as possible across the country taking part in a 1 mile walk, jog or run in the spirit of the marathon. This year’s event is extra special as the mini marathon is hoping to break a Guinness world record!
The record they are aiming to break is the most amount of pledges in a sporting event in one month and if successful Oakhyrst Grange will receive their own Guinness world record certificate and be in the Guinness world record book!
I know the children are all very much looking forward to taking part and have their fingers crossed that we reach that wonderful world record.
