Our U11 Boys hockey team recently had the incredible opportunity to compete at the ISA National hockey tournament which was held at the prestigious Lee Valley Hockey Centre in London’s Olympic Park. This was an experience that will stay with the boys for a long time. The competition was fierce, with schools travelling from across South England to compete. Whilst the results didn’t go our way, the team showed great determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.
In the initial group stage, we finished in 4th position out of 5 schools, which included playing the overall winners. This placed us into the next round of matches along with the other schools who finished 4th in their respective groups to compete in the ‘Trophy’ group.
Despite our best efforts, we again secured 4th place in the next group stage, just missing out on a Bronze medal. While these weren’t the results we had hoped for, the experience of playing at such a high level, in a world-class venue, was invaluable.
The players should be proud of their effort and teamwork, and we will take the lessons learned into future competitions. Well done to everyone involved!
